Rev Med Liege 2021, 76(11),783-788Abstract : Frosted angiitis is a rare form of retinal vasculitis in which venous development gives it an appearance of perivascular frost. It is most often of idiopathic origin but can also be found in the context of infectious (most often viral) or inflammatory pathologies (lupus erythematosus, sarcoidosis or granulomatosis with polyangiitis). As with most vasculitis, frosty angiitis can be complicated by occlusion of the central retinal vein. Close monitoring is necessary as well as rapid treatment based on high-dose systemic corticosteroid therapy as well as intraocular injections of anti-VEGF compounds if necessary.
