We summarize here the joint recommendations recently published by the European Society of Cardiology and the European Society for the Study of Diabetes. The management of main risk factors, aiming to optimize primary or secondary prevention, has been developed in a first article. This second article is focusing on the management of cardiac, cerebrovascular and peripheral arteriopathic complications. The importance of an individualized patient-centered strategy is emphasized, including the management of microangiopathies and, ideally, within a multidisciplinary approach.
