Clinical case of the month. Tetanus still exist !

Rev Med Liege 2013, 68(4),157-159Abstract : We report the dramatic story of a 81 year old patient admitted to the intensive care unit following the development of tetanus. This man, perfectly autonomous, used to workin his garden without anti-tetanus immunization coverage. In this article, we report the therapeutic management of tetanus. We emphasize the importance of vaccination which permits to avoid the disease, the mortality and morbidity of which remain high.
