Abstract : Over the last twenty years, cocaine, amphetamines and MDMA (ecstasy) have found new categories of users, seeking for their stimulating effects. These substances may lead to real dependence and may cause serious somatic and psychiatric damage. In this perspective, we reviewed the available literature concerning problematic psychoactive drug use in Belgium.
