Acne of the adolescent is a frequent disorder. Some topical and oral antibiotics have proven their efficacy. However, the risk of bacterial resistance may be a concern for the clinicians and their patients. Hence, a therapeutic strategy without antibiotics merits to be considered. Retinoids have a place of choice in this therapeutic strategy. Benzoyl peroxide and miconazole are also active and valuable agents in this therapeutic algorithm.
